We have been busy behind the scenes working on four big projects: a new loyalty program, an online ordering app, coffee subscriptions, and Artisan Coffee Roasting Software. As we move forward with these new technologies, we do so with one goal: to make your experience here at Mad River Coffee the best it can be. Our staff works so hard to manage the flow day in and day. The NEW customer loyalty program
A year ago, we brought in a new POS (point of sale) register system, Heartland POS to better track our sales on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis, costs, and staffing needs, to better prepare for peak hours.
This summer, we’ve activated the Heartland POS Loyalty Program because it offers a seamless rewards program for you. By participating in the program, you can earn points and rewards for purchases, which can be redeemed for discounts, free items, or exclusive offers. Currently, if you purchase $50 at the Coffee House, you will receive $5 off your next order. Over the next year we will be experimenting with different awards such as a free muffin or percentage. At cash out, you can scan the QR code on your receipt. It will lead you through an easy set up tied to your phone number. The digital rewards tracking simplifies the process, allowing you to easily monitor points and rewards through the Heartland POS system or a mobile app. No more searching through the index cards, no more stress when you can’t find it, or realizing after you paid, you had a free coffee.
Heartland Guest Ordering App
We all know how crazy the Coffee House can get on the weekend. Or tried to call and gotten the busy signal. Using the new online ordering app, you can order, pay, and pick in a snap! The app streamlines various aspects from placing the order, paying, collecting rewards points, and avoiding a bad phone connection and miss order. In a hurry to get to the mountains? Put your order in online and have it ready when you arrive cutting wait times down. Here are the steps.

Artisan Coffee Software
This big step forward isn’t one you’ll see, but rather one you’ll taste! Artisan coffee software is an innovative tool designed to enhance the precision of coffee roasting, particularly for small to medium-sized roasters. This software integrates advanced technology with the traditional craft of coffee roasting, providing a comprehensive platform that supports the entire roasting process.
One of the primary features of Artisan is its ability to monitor and control various roasting parameters in real-time. This includes temperature, time, airflow, and drum speed, all of which are critical to achieving the desired flavor profile of our coffees. The software offers real-time data visualization, allowing roasters to make immediate adjustments and fine-tune the roasting process as it unfolds. This precise control is essential for developing the nuanced flavors that differentiate high-quality coffee. The more exact a graph is between roasts, the more consistent the coffee will taste.
